We’ve been so thrilled with the reaction thus far to or new mental health podcast, “Why Do People Do That?”
Every episode, we (Stacy Pellettieri and Heather Harten) discuss the mental health world, using our experience as therapists to identify topics that may be of interest to others – including those that you may not be able to ask about on your own.
What makes us different for those seeking a new therapist or mental health podcast is that we are not here to make you feel good (or bad!). Instead, we believe that honesty is what’s important. We want people to be able to walk away from each podcast with a deeper understanding of themselves and others, and be able to think more critically about topics that seem obvious to the naked eye.
For example, we talk about:
- The importance of toys and how they shape who we are as adults.
- How and why children feel like they have to parent their parents.
- Whether or not time actually heals all wounds (it doesn’t, by the way).
- Why people break up on Valentine’s Day.
- Why those with ADHD have the struggles they do and what to do about it.

Our goal is, for lack of a better phrase, to “keep it real.” We want you to gain insight into yourselves, your children, and others, but that also means attacking challenging topics and providing challenging answers. We also feature experts that live outside of the mental health world, including divorce attorneys, toy specialists, and so many others.
