Our Mission

We are lifelong social workers (Since 1997 to be exact) and we are dedicated to taking what we have learned throughout our careers and presenting these insights with all of you with the hope that our knowledge can become your knowledge. With knowledge there is power, and the power we aim to offer to all of our listeners is a deeper understanding of self and others. We believe this clarity yields resilience and leads to an overall healthier and happier existence. If we can connect just a few dots for you and bring you a sense of peace in any of the areas of your life, then we have done what we have set out to achieve. Please join us, become more aware of yourself and others, and grow into a more peaceful state of being. We are offering the roadmap to resilience! Come on the journey!

The Hosts

Two Therapists, a Podcast, and a Vision

Stacy Pellettieri, LCSW-R

With 30 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker, I founded Long Island Counseling, Right Path Counseling and The ADHD Training Center, to serve as compassionate and inclusive space for individuals and families across the lifespan—from young children to the elderly. I specialize in supporting clients through a wide range of challenges, including trauma, ADHD, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and OCD. My work is deeply informed by a commitment to neurodiversity, and I am an ADHD Certified Clinician, offering dedicated support to individuals with ADHD, along with their families and communities, to foster resilience and well-being. Throughout my career, I have integrated a range of therapeutic approaches to meet my clients’ unique needs, including psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, trauma-informed care, DBT, CBT, ACT, EFT, and IFS. My approach is person-centered, emphasizing empathy and adaptability to create a therapeutic experience that empowers clients on their personal journeys. At my practices, I work with individuals, couples, and families, and am dedicated to supporting my clinical team to provide the highest level of patient care. Through supervision, education, and community outreach, I strive to ensure that my practices meet the evolving needs of our community with compassion, expertise, and dedication. I recently started my podcast, “Why Do People Do That” out of my love for helping people and my desire to bring my experience and knowledge to as many people as I possibly can.

Heather Harten, LCSW-R, CASAC-G

Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Substance Use Disorder Specialist | Program Coordinator

With almost 30 years of clinical experience, I have a deep commitment to supporting individuals in their recovery journey. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University, and am licensed in New York State as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a CASAC with a specialty gambling designation. I specialize in trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I began working at an Inpatient SUD rehab in Nassau County in 2007, just as it opened, and have gone from working on the front lines to creating the evidence-based curriculum for the program. As the coordinator, I lead a dedicated team of clinicians, creating a client centered approach to treatment that includes individual therapy, group sessions, family support, medication assisted treatment and relapse management. I work with individuals and groups to help them achieve lasting sobriety, rebuild their lives, and address the underlying emotional and psychological factors that contribute to substance use. I am deeply passionate about helping clients identify their strengths, build coping strategies, and achieve long-term recovery and wellness. I work closely with the clients family members, as it is crucial for loved ones to understand addiction, as this knowledge helps reduce stigma and creates a more compassionate support system. Prior to inpatient treatment, I worked at an outpatient SUD program in Brooklyn with groups and individuals, focusing on those with opiate use disorder as well as running treatment and prevention groups in NYC schools with 3rd and 4th graders that self identified as having a parent with a substance use disorder. I am also dedicated to advocating for accessible and effective addiction treatment and work tirelessly to reduce the stigma surrounding substance use disorders and promote a compassionate approach to addiction recovery.
