How to Make This School Year the Best Year Ever – New Podcast Episode!

We are out with a new podcast episode, and this one is on a topic that is important: back to school season.

You’ve probably heard the idea that children – and adults – benefit from routine. There is some truth to that. It does help to know, generally, what’s coming next. There’s comfort in routine.

Yet, as therapists, we find that – at least in terms of our experience with patient phone calls – the single worst period for many people, and the one where most people seek out therapy because they’re stressed (vs January when most people are just calling for New Year’s Resolutions) – is September and October.

And it is frequently because of back to school season.

Some of this is the parents. It’s stressful putting a child back in school and having to redo the routine. Some of this is societal expectations of what school is supposed to be like now vs what it was in the past. Some of this is related to how children are reacting to more difficult classes, or social issues after a long break, and more.

We are really excited about this episode and want you to listen. Early feedback has been great, and we hope that you find this information useful. Listen to learn all about how we can make this a great year:
